Next week: Top of the Park, Tuesday June 25th

Friends,

We’re thrilled to again be playing Top of the Park at the Ann Arbor Summer Festival. We take to the stage one week from today, next Tuesday June 25th. At 7:00 pm, Lac La Belle will start things off right, and afterwards, before your very eyes, will morph into Orpheum Bell members for our 8:30 pm set. It is a spectacular sight, not to be missed.

We’ll be bringing assorted delights: Rob Avsharian on drums, Erin Morris on tuba, Jessica Campbell and Sarah Ring lending backup vocals. Erin and Jessica will even treat us with some on-stage dancing.

If all that does not sound lovely enough, stay afterwards for an outdoor screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

We hope to see you there,
Orpheum Bell

Ring in November with OB

Friends,

In two weeks, we are excited to be traveling through northern Michigan with our good friends Lac La Belle, who will be teaming up with us on stage for quite a few tunes. This- plus our friend Rob Avsharian on drums- will make for the big evenings.

If you’re in the area and need some warming up, please come move around with us at one of the following venues:

-Nov. 1st, Thursday, 8pm: Short’s Brewery in Bellaire, MI
-Nov. 2nd, Friday, 8pm: The Good Work Collective in Traverse City, MI
-Nov. 3rd, Saturday, 8pm: Freshwater Studio in Boyne City, MI

The following Friday (Nov. 9th, 8pm) we’ll be doing something- joining Dance in the Annex (DITA) for Salmagundi 2012 at the Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids, MI. There will be contemporary dancing to our music, and we can’t wait to see it.

Here’s a video of a DITA performance to our song “Money From Another Town”.

Hope to see you soon,
Orpheum Bell

We’ll be in northern Michigan this weekend

Hi folks,

We have three shows this weekend up in our favorite stomping grounds of beautiful northern Mich.

We start off on Friday at 8 PM Short’s Brewery in Bellaire, MI. We had a grand time our first time out there – amazing food, festive atmosphere, and a welcoming crowd- and so we have been eagerly looking forward to our return.

On Saturday we’ll be playing at the Odmark Performance Pavilon at 2 PM in Charlevoix, and then we’ll head over to Traverse City to play at the TC Wine & Art Festival at 6 PM, opening for none other than Rusted Root. We’ll partake in the wine if allowed.

Come on out if you’re in the area and not otherwise engaged. We look forward to playing some music for you.

your band,
Orpheum Bell

On Saturday, June 23rd, we’re back at the Ark in Ann Arbor with our friends from Chicago, Eastern Blok. It will be a good evening of dark music and light humor and flip top beers at the bar.

See you soon and until then we remain,

Preview and release of ‘The Old Sisters’ Home’

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your kind support of our Kickstarter fundraising effort. We raised $5,326. This is a big help. Makes us feel proud and optimistic about the new album. The tracking is done. Mixing and mastering – done. We are finalizing artwork, paperwork and the routine clerical and record-keeping incidental to the more important task: releasing the completed 3rd album

This we will do on Saturday, December 10th, 2011 at the Lydia Mendelssohn Theatre in Ann Arbor, Michigan (tickets). The theater is lovely, dark and deep and thus we hope for many of you to come and listen and have a good time.

We will play the show with Red Tail Ring and will be joined by friends who helped us record the album. For the first time ever we’re making a few moving pictures to go along with the live music.

Tickets for the December 10th release are on sale now from the Michigan Union Ticket Office and can be purchased by following this link.

In the meantime, below are 3-tracks we’d like to share with you from our new album.

Thank you,

Orpheum Bell

Buttermilk Jamboree to showcase Orpheum Bell, new instrument

Dear Supporters,

This Saturday, June 11, we are on the bill at 8:00 pm at the Buttermilk Jamboree along with many Michigan bands, and also Ferron.

Circle Pines Center in Delton, MI is the spot. The festival benefits a children’s camp and a community shelter.

We are ready to make it with new songs and a new instrument that we bought on our last tour to Chicago. We also have lost some weight since we last saw you and one of us has been engaged to be married. So: we are full of energy and have the guts to make this show something to remember this summer by.

Come over and say hello.

Until then we remain your band,

Orpheum Bell
